Games I skipped – Episode #1
In the past years a lot of interesting games came out. Way to many games for a person to be able to play them and to make an article on them. There are so many games in my backlog that it actually clogs my mind. “On this game is cool I have to try it out. I want to play X game but I will only do it after I cover Y game, but I already started to cover the Z game so I have to bedone with that“.
This is a really annoying process. I started to not enjoy games that much, and games that I enjoy, I play them a bit than I move to the next one because I have to check other games to.
So I decided to just draw a line and be like… “I’m done with this game” and move on with my life.
I have always loved tycoon & management type of games. Settlers 2 & 4, the Cultures series are some of my favorite games. I like this idea of having a group of people that have stats, that can improve. A group of people that are your people. When I saw this game I was a bit excited but then the game got out and I was a bit like… meh. I never liked the textures. The game just looks ugly! And yes I know that graphics arn’t everything. I play a lot of games with bad graphics because the gameplay is amazing, but here… I always found the gameplay a bit to slow and it was hard for me to get into the game.

Oh man. This game was on the “Upcoming Games of 2013 That Are Making PET Excited“. I even made a video about the game. In a way it’s a bit funny because I was so naive back then.
Not even sure why I got “excited” about this game. Probably because I usually like 2D platformers… and I like “randomized” stuff, and this game is pretty original. It combines both! Basically it’s a 2D Platformer that randomizes the levels. That’s about it 🙂 It’s cool… but then again… it’s just that. You get bored fast.
I really wished to like this game. I know why I will NOT like this game. Yet I still bought it from a friend. Played it for 2.5 hours … it was really interesting then the problem that I knew I wasn’t going to like triggered. The lack of ability to SAVE THE FUCKING GAME whenever I wanted. It was so frustrating, so ANNOYING! I go, I explore… I loot… I reach a point and I DIE. I spawn to the last checkpoint… and I have to go again to explore, to loot the shit I already looted, to walk some more… only to get again the the point where I died… only to have the chance to die again…
NO THANK YOU!
Btw, I loved Bloodborne for example even that it was kind of the same thing. The cool part about Bloodborne is that it was about the exploration. Even in Bloodborne when you loot something from a custom placed corpse, that look will now “re-appear” when you die. So when you die you at least know that you got that look, you know that you know more stuff about what’s around the corner and you know that at least you farmed some more souls.
Yea well. Another game that was on my “Upcoming Games of 2013 That Are Making PET Excited“! I was excited because the game was made by Ron Gilbert the creator of Monkey Island… but besides that… that’s it. It’s not really the game’s fault. It was my fault. I didn’t even gave this game a chance. I only played it for 1 hour.
Crysis 1, 2 & 3
Yea guys. I never played Crysis. I never had a good PC when 1 & 2 came out… and when 3 came out it was a bit to late. Whenever you get a new PC you fill it up with games and you just don’t get enough time to play them. You move to X then to Y then to Z … and the games lose value. I remember playing Crysis 3 for something like 1-2-3 hours but that was about it. It was interesting… I might want to play it later… but then this is what I always keep telling myself. “I will play that game at one point“.
