Robert Parker – Crystal City & Nightcrawler – Metropolis
I’m very happy that my Robert Parker – Crystal City & Nightcrawler – Metropolis albums arrived yesterday 😀
I do have to say that Electronic Purification Records are doing a fantastic job with their packaging & with the look & feel of the vinyls & products themselves. They are really of high quality!
Normally I wanted to wait for my order until VHS Dreams album Trans AM was releasing (which I ordered and I will receive in July), however I saw a Facebook post from EPR saying that there are only 6 copies left of the Robert Parker album with the blue splatter, so I had to place my order in that moment 😀
I went with the “Die Hard” package that came with a metal pin & a T-Shirt. Another option was to get the 3D Cover (Lenticular Print) of Robert Parker’s album, however the price was basically the same (50€) and I wasn’t to fond of a 3D cover. However… in my order I also got 2 small 3D Prints with the Waveshaper – Station Nova & Robert Parker – Crystal City covers and they look simply amazing. The Waveshaper cover looks better and it looks to have more depth, but still, I’m happy with my choice. Now I have an extra T-Shirt to wear.
About the album themselves, they are really good … of course! I don’t buy stuff just because they are retro or because I want to “have a collection”. I gave them a good listen and if they sound ok, then I’m considering a purchase. Not sure which album I like more… maybe Metropolis because of the dystopian feel which in general I find fascinating. Robert Parker is also really good with a New Retro Wave vibe.
My favorite songs are:
Robert Parker – Crystal City: ’85 Again, Guilty Pleasure
Nightcrawler – Metropolis: Dystopia, The House of Pleasure, The Legacy, Metropolis, Broken Dreams
For Crystal City I got triggered on the song Guilty Pleasure which comes right after ’85 Again. That’s when I knew this is a good album.
For Metropolis it was The House of Pleasure.
UUuhhhh…. the little joys of life! Thanks for reading brotellos!
