Namzuc DevLog #01
Back in 2014 I started to design a game that mixed up elements from boardgames with roguelike games. I was a bit annoyed that I couldn’t find a programmer to make a small prototype, however at the beginning of 2016 I found out an Unity plugin called FlowCanvas.
For those who don’t know FlowCanvas is a “visual coding tool” … meaning that you code with visual elements. You still need to know programming, but for people like me this is an incredible tool. I somehow find programming a bit to slow and boring. Please note that FlowCanvas is different than Playmaker! PlayMaker is a State Machine where you can do various actions on each state. With FlowCanvas you really need to know what you want to do and how you do it!
So I decided to pickup FlowCanvas and give it a go:
In this video I go over the small tasks I accomplished. Consider it more of a “look what PET did with FlowCanvas” and not a tutorial or a proper introduction to FlowCanvas.
Right now I placed this project on hiatus mainly because it’s a fairly complex game and I don’t think I can handle it myself. But who knows… I still design to it sometimes.
